Although it’s still a million and five degrees outside, the stores are slowly getting their fall and winter clothes in. It’s hard to want to go try on winter-wear when I know we’ll still be in shorts and sun dresses for at least two more months but on the other hand, it’s never too early to think about the perfect family session wardrobe for our Christmas card.
Here is my personal family session plan:
I broke my cardinal rule of “Dress Mom first” for this one because Petite has a super precious hand-me-down dress she’s going to wear. It’s a cream dropped waist sweater dress with a black bow bedecked belt. I think FMG looks terribly handsome in jeans and a blazer so I’m going with it. Besides, I know he won’t complain since it’s an outfit he’d regularly wear! (Cardinal RUle #2 – If He Wouldn’t Normally Wear It (Or It’s Too Far Out Of His Comfort Zone) He’ll Be A Pain The Entire Session. <— goes for husbands and sons!). And for me? Well, I like black. I like my chest and arms covered… and I like a knee length a-line. So, voila! Polyvore delivered to me a perfect, gazillion dollar dress. Here’s to hoping someone will do an affordable version by the time pictures roll around.
While I was scheming my actual family session wardrobe, I made a fantasy Paris session wardrobe. You know… for when I’m a gazillionaire and can jet to Paris for family portraits. (Which is kinda ironic because I’m in France right now! Did I tell you that?? No? Well you’ll hear ALL about it when I get back! And no… I’m NOT a gazillionaire.)
