What to Wear :: San ANtonio Family Portraits

Today is the day you didn’t even know you were waiting for… The day I make a fool out of myself answering my #1 email and consult question … on a video.

Last year’s What to Wear Guides are a good visual to hopefully help spark your ideas and current inspiration boards are coming to the blog next week from some special guests.

Don’t want to watch? (I don’t blame you… ha.) Here’s a recap:

1. You don’t have to be matchy matchy to look cohesive! Long gone are the days when everyone wore the same.exact.outfit. Pick a color family, a genre, or a style as the foundation to build a cohesive look. Use colors, textures, (big) prints and accessories to pull everyone together.

2. Dress Mom (or the pickiest person) first. When Momma’s happy, everyone is happy, right? There are a million cute outfits for the kids and most Dad’s I know are easy to dress. Find something to wear that makes you feel awesome and is flattering.

3. Be sure your clothes fit! When picking out your clothes, make sure they fit well – a little too tight in person looks a lot too tight on camera and a when a garnet is too big it swallows you! Double check to be sure there are no gapping button holes, too short shirts, and that pants are long enough. Sit, stand, and move in your clothes to check that they are flattering and offering full coverage from all angles.

4. Use your resources! A quick google or Pinterest search of “What to Wear Guide” will provide you with a million examples in just as many different styles. Sites like Polyvore are also chalk full of suggestions and ideas.
