Can I make a startling confession? I’ve only been into The Children’s Place twice. Once was for this blog post. The other time was when Petite was about 3 months old, we were both cranky, it was a Saturday afternoon and the mall was crowded and I’m pretty sure I was probably hungry. It was not a happy shopping trip. So through no fault of TCP – I didn’t go back. BUT ZOMG I’M SO GLAD I DID! When Children’s Place got in touch about coming in to see their holiday 2013 collection and do some shopping I didn’t think twice! OF COURSE Petite and I would love to come shop!
I feel like there was a big secret that I was not “in” on. Well, now I’m in on it – and so are you!! The Children’s Place is now officially back in our rotation for cute, affordable, on-trend kid clothes for special occasions and holidays. The staff was super nice, the collections were well stocked – bonus points for carrying infant to girls 14 – which means that much of the store coordinates. Perfect for family pictures, or in Petite’s case, straddling a “size” line. She’s wearing a lot of toddler sizes but sometimes needs a girls’ XXS.
It didn’t take us long to hone in on two trends we’re loving this year… sparkles and animal print. Trends that can stick around FOREVER in Petite’s opinion. She made a bee line for these little girls shoes. Sadly, I think we have a few years before they’ll fit.
Critter hats are adorable and The Children’s Place had a huge selection in the boy’s and girl’s sections. From penguins the bears – Petite loved them all – and I’m pretty sure I’ll be back to snag one for a stocking stuffer.
(Not ready to part with the shoes…) Aside from the amazing selection of clothes and accessories, I totally appriciated the seriously easy going staff and room to maneuver. Petite LOVES to shop but I also had the stroller… there was room for all of it!
Does anyone else feel like pj’s get blown through like diapers? I feel like I’m constantly buying pj’s! These are SO adorable – and available in the full range of sizes the store carries.
We were on a mission to find Thanksgiving, Christmas and Valentine’s Day “day” wear – the special outfits to wear on the ranch and when playing with cousins after the “formal” part of the day was over. Petite definitely had an opinion.
We had to stop for a selfie… Please note the foot sticking up… I asked her to “wave hi” and I got a foot. Hmmmm.
leopard cardi / silver foil heart top / jeggings / velvet flower headband / silver polka dot beret / bunny peplum top / heart bubble skirt / herringbone vest / embellished cream long sleeve tee / leopard jumper
So what did we end up with? The sweet beret was the first thing Petite gravitated to and has worn several times already! Since our Texas winters are fairly mild, it is the perfect not-too-warm hat. Leopard is my favorite neutral – so we snagged a cardi and jumper in thier cute leopard print. The jumper is perfect for our fall/winters because of the ability to layer under and over it as needed. I loved the length and quality of the jeggings. They feel soft and substantial – not at all stiff or scratchy. The heart bubble skirt is too adorable and the bunny top – well – obviously they knew us, right? See how we styled Petite’s Picks (and yes… homegirl had an opinion and I respect that. Laugh if you will. She knows what she likes and wants…).
Beret, silver heart shirt, boy’s herringbone vest, jeggings and a little dance move to boot. A stylish Christmas day-time outfit OR a darling Christmas picture outfit! .
Jeggings, cream top, leopard cardi and headband… and more dancing.
Same outfit when I asked her to “BE still for JUST A SEC!!!!!!!!!!!”. Total fake tears, thankyouverymuch.
