It’s that time of year again … Summer isn’t too far off, teachers start classroom countdowns to the last day of school, SXSW takes over Austin and all the UT kids head for higher ground, and the Good Girls start itching for a little adventure in their lives. And i’m not talking the MArtha Stewart SPring Cleaning adventure you’re contemplating. I mean, heart racing, adrenaline pumping, shake out the cobwebs of winter adventure. In honor of my favorite Texas city, here are some fabulous adventure outings great for a group or a date in and around Central Texas – but look in your area – I’m sure you’ll find something to make your skirt fly up.
Practice your left (right?) turn skills at a gazillion miles an hour with a NASCAR driving experience from the Race With Rusty folks in Kyle, Texas.
Get a workout and a spectacular downtown view at the same time! Stand-Up Paddle boarding is one of the newest activities on Lady Bird Lake and Paddle Zen is one of a few outfitters ready to take you up or down stream.
Connect with your artsy OR caveman side and try out a glass blowing class from Glass Monkey Art Studio. As they say “playing with fire shouldn’t be this much fun”…
Take to the skies with Genesis Flight Academy and (kinda) earn your wings. Anyone see a little 50 Shades morning happening here… Head to Magnolia Pancake house on South Congress for breakfast after.
For a tamer and tastier adventure, fill your brain with wine knowledge at a win education class at House Wine. Sounds like the perfect adventure to me!
Feel inspired to go adventuring but not in Austin? Well, not to worry — all of these adventures were plucked straight from that magical site Groupon – and I’m sure wherever you are you can find a comparable experience. Or maybe not, because Austin is awesome. Oh, and since I have to say it – none of these companies or people know I exist and there are no affiliate links in this post – I just thought they looked pretty cool. You are on your own if you decide to try one – so do your research and make sure you know what you’re in for, mkay? xoxo
