Sometimes, the most crazy, random little things happen and though neither life changing or earth shattering – but rather just joyful and exciting – they are the things in life that ignite a spark or and add a little warmth to your life. Sometime I’ll have to tell you the funny story of how I met Candice – but for now – just remember that she threw that beautiful Project Life Party a few weeks ago.
At the party, she incorporated some of the Project Life cards into her decorations – making a simple but high impact banner that went over the table. Fast forward to this week when Becky Higgins, the founder and creator of Project Life taught three days worth of classes on CreativeLIVE… (I’m getting there, I promise…) One of the segments was other ways to use the product and lo and behold there was Candice’s picture! OF ME – and Colleen, Amy and Haeley!
Seriously. It’s such a tiny thing – to be on the screen for half a moment, it wasn’t ME that was the subject (just fine with that, thankyouverymuch) but I was an itsy bitsy part of a huge big deal for Project Life – something that I’ve grown to very seriously love the last year.
And THEN Becky talked about creating real life circles of people to share this with AND THERE WE WERE AGAIN…. OMG.
The picture I’m holding is of Petite and me when I bought my first core kit and album at leHobLob and Colleen is holding the first scrapbook page she ever put together.
Not only was it totally cool to BE a part of something so much bigger than myself but it got me motivated to get my 2013 album current – which I’m glad to say I DID!
All I have to do is print November and then December’s photos and fill in some journaling and my WHOLE year is scrapbooked. How good does that feel?
The very first layout (the former yearbook editor in me wants to talk about spreads…) from 2013. I had no intention of scrapbooking again – but my picture taking is habitual.
And one of my favorites! From King William Fair at Lara and Phillip’s new house!
So after watching Becky on creativeLIVE all weekend, I spread out the cards on the couch this afternoon to fill in some spaces (the pics were already in…and on the couch because I was watching football…) and this evening Petite noticed. And then my heart nearly exploded.
She started flipping through the pages – pointing at pictures and baby-babbling conversations to herself.
She was delighted to find Jojo and Mama.
And then DADDY!!!
When she got to the end, she (with help… there’s a lot of pages!) flipped back to the beginning and did it again. This, THIIIIIIIS is why I’m so in love with this system. I would have neeeev-ah finished this story in a traditional scrapbook. Those days are long gone. But to have this for Petite, and us, is such a simple gift.
And then the bubble popped and I peeled melt-down-Petite off the couch for a bath. Real life, folks.
