Ok… So I’m terribly late with this but my goal is to get all caught up from summer in the next few weeks because I have some SERIOUSLY fun house projecs coming up that I can’t wait to share!
As is our yearly tradition, we spent a week at the beach – and sweet Lapin did wonderfully! This year’s trip was somewhat modified since little one had to nap and it was hard to take her to the actual beach. She did get plenty of pool time and we both squeezed in pool, beach, and fishing time. It was a treat to have everyone – including Sissy Brie – in close (but not too close) quarters! Jojo found an amazing house and cottage for all of us to stay in – with an amazing view and even a pool! We are so spoiled!
The little cottage where the three of us stayed was down the hill from the main house… and Brie had a ball running up and down the stairs to see what was going on.
We spent a lot of time on the porch. This house was built on the tallest dune in town and it caught a mean breeze. Even during the day it was nice on the porch.
I don’t think Lapin was too impressed with the outfit I pulled together for her. She only spent a few minutes (literally) on the beach and not many more than that in the pool. Her cute swimsuits were all too big and I couldn’t find any swim diapers small enough. (Wouldn’t we all love to have that problem?)
That face is just priceless! She squished her toes in the sand and cooed with delight when the water would flow over her legs. I hope she always loves the beach as much as she seemed to!
In all the years I’ve been dragging FMG to the coast, I’ve never taken him to The Boiling Pot. This year was his inaugural year!
…and let’s be honest here. I really don’t eat seafood. I have NO idea why I love coming here so much because other than the corn, sausage and potatoes, nothing looks appealing.
Slight amusement or bewilderment? As always, Lapin was a trooper and hung out with Douxie most of the night.
Our favorite guide helped us bring in a pretty good haul – considering the fish were.not.biting. I mean, we usually have twice this many! Not being greedy, we left some for the other boats that weren’t having as much luck!
My Dad and I used to go out on those 12 hour marathon fishing trips. What a beating they were! We decided we were too old for that (haha). I like our 5 hour bay trips much better.
True story, folks. GAR pulled in the little one and J got the biggest catch all morning – and after letting one get away, very quickly learned what “REEL DOWN!!!!” meant!
