I fell in love with Project Life about 2 years ago when my friend Liz posted about it on Facebook. I didn’t know all there was to know ( I still don’t!) but I googled (raise your hand if you love the Googles!) and found a few blog posts and reviews and giveaways. I passed them on to Liz but didn’t think anything else of it. Then earlier this year I did a hashtag hunt (You know, where you see it pop up and follow it until you can make sense of the connections? Doesn’t always work but it’s like a techie treasure hunt.) and made my way back to Becky Higgins Instagram account. She was getting ready for the Hobby Lobby release of Project Life. That did it. I like to see, and touch, and compare before I buy – and this was the perfect opportunity! Petite and I went in the week it was stocked (after stalking it’s release around the country – is that weird?) and I was smitten.
I LOVE to scrapbook, we all know I’m obsessed with picture taking, and I have a special place in my heart for good paper. While looking at the options at HobLob, I kept repeating my favorite Ina phrase: ” How easy is that?” … No seriously. How easy is that? And it IS easy. And beautiful! I finished almost a year of images in a few nap times. This year’s pictures are making their way into the pages and this summer (177 images 4×6’s and 56 Instagram pics) was finished during one Project Life Party and one nap time. Seriously? How easy is that?
My friend Candice invited a few blogging friends over to compile our summer books in one sitting. We were up for the challenge! (Also, this post has a mix of Instagram/phone pics and BGC pics – bear with me! 🙂 )
Candice’s mom, Kim (who has the CUTEST press printed card line – Paper Bandit Press) did the gorgeous hand lettering on the backdrop.
Candice used some 12×12 Sunshine Edition paper for the embellishments.
Sarah spoiled us with some yummy snacks.
This amazing bite of Caesar salad was TDF. I love the idea of a one-bite salad. The little parmesan crisp was a perfect garnish.
And beautiful cupcakes!
Candice decorated using the Project Life Sunshine kit cards to make a banner/bunting/awesomeness.
You might have seen this one on Instagram! It was the cah-yootest thing and might have inspired another project coming down the pipes!
Each place was set with our album, kit and Photo Pocket Pages . Each album, kit and box of sleeves is designed to get you through an entire year! Yes! A WHOLE year! Project Life is the easiest way to keep up real time life documenting.
I was really excited about using the Sunshine Kit for my summer album.
(Really, really, excited!)
Also on the table was a stash of washi tape and Project Life Journaling Pens. The PL pens write like skinny sharpies (MY FAAAAAV.) but they don’t bleed through the cards! The white barreled pen also writes directly on glossy pictures.
One of my favorite things about the Project Life core kits is the “suggested” layouts for the first and last pages. Not only do they always look amazing, but it’s a great jump start for the album. Thats Colleen, showing off her very first finished scrapbook page!
Persnickety Prints has some amazing options for printing – not just pictures for your Project Life books – but for anything! Sarah had hers printed on a card stock-like paper (called Press Printing) and they were BEAUTIFUL!
Haeley’s Instagram pics look amazing!
And I love how she used the 4×6 cards and washi tape to put her Instagram pics in!
It was a fun filled, memory sharing (and keeping) fabulous time. I think that every few months we should do an evening of BYO Project Life-ing! Would you do that? Like dinner club but productive!
These were the sweet favors that Candice sent us home with – I loved all the high impact touches Candice came up with. I love her attention to detail!
I was invited by Candice to the Project Life Party and Becky Higgins & Persnickety Prints provided products for us to use. No other compensation was received and I wasn’t asked to review or link to any product. I just wanted you to know how AWESOME this system is! The amazon links are affiliate links – which means you’ll be supporting my blogging and Project Life habits. Stay tuned later this week for a few of the layouts I have in my summer album!
