OK – don’t roll your eyes. (Promise? Thank you.)
I bought a pair of boots that are TOTALLY out of my comfort zone.
(Ok. Really. You can roll your eyes.)
Backing up – My fashion blogging buddy Christina put together a #SABloggers event at Langford Market. Before going, I’d never heard of it. I texted my fashion savvy cousin and she’s all like “Duh! I love them!”. So. Yeah.
My favorite macarons this side of the Atlantic! Bakery Lorraine sent some scrumptious treats for us to nibble. I had a s’mores macaron that was just about to die for.
Though I haven’t actually *been* to Bird Bakery, I’ve eaten a lot of their food … and it’s all amazing. Anyone want to have a breakfast date there?
The store is chock full of treasures. The majority of pieces are extremely affordable – and ALL of them are on trend and tres au currant.
I totally lusted over this amazing cream lace jacket – it would be so sweet dressed up or even cooler with jeans and boot (riding or cowboy style!).
The clothes were so colorful — and seriously. SO many choices!
I loved how the mannequins were actually dressed in outfits I’d (or anyone) would wear. Sometimes I feel like store mannequins are SO styled and SO fashion forward that they are just intimidating and NOT inspiring.
Oh, look! They dressed one for me! (Not really – but a pink shirt and b&w cardi? They might as well have just put my monogram on it.)
Two of my favorite things – shoes and macarons!
SOmetimes makeup artists intimidate me … they always look impeccable and edgy – and then I feel frumpy and deisheveled. Krystal was THE NICEST person. She touched up all of our eye makeup… and when I say touched up I mean she made us look awesome. I’m hoping she will collaborate with me for some shoots! Raise your hand if you’d love to have your makeup done before a family shoot!!! When it was my turn, she gave me the softest smokey eye and a rockin’ wing-tip-cat-eye-awesomness liner that I’d never be able to do myself.
Ahhhh – said boot. THe boot that took me out of my comfort zone. Short boot? Not my usual order. Fringe? Who IS this wild woman? I kid. But to be honest, I just never thought of “me” as short fringed boot girl. But when I tried them on it was love at… ALMOST love at first sight. I actually went with the black version. But you get it. Maybe I should rock the cat-eye-wing-tip-thing more often! I could move mountains!
If your’e in River Center Mall or area be sure to stop by – they are constantly receiving new merchandise and have such a variety of things to look at!
Langford Market invited us out to talk, eat and shop. Bird Bakery sent some snacks and Bakery Lorraine provided the macarons. Krystal of SugarShock touched up our eyes. No other compensation was received and there was no expectation of a blog post or review. All opinions and fringe are my own. Kthanks.
