Ty is simply one of the happiest babies I’ve ever met… and my new favorite way to kick off a Cake Smash is with a few minutes of a more traditional portrait. As much as I love the cake smash part, I really love warming up with some “getting to know you” time. Happy birthday Ty!
My recent First Birthday sessions have all included some more traditional portraits of baby – and I’m absolutely loving it. As much as I adore the cake smash part of the session (sometimes excluded all together!) I love that these pictures capture the birthday kiddo in all of their 365 day amazingness. The ends of the babyhood features and the beginnings of the toddler look, the wispy hair, and sometimes… Keep Reading
Talk about a babe that started out high on the cute scale and just kept on climbing! It was SO fun to see #DevinTheDiva for her cake smash and first birthday portraits. Each cake smash session starts with a few images of just baby and I love the tangible memory of that toddler-cusp age.

This little one is full of personality and she’s not afraid to show it! I always love shooting Audrey and her sister – they’re super sweet and mom always picks the BEST outfits and sets. Happy Birthday sweet Audrey!

Turning one is such a big occasion! Mom and Dad made it through the first year and baby had explored, discovered and grown for 365 amazing days. Every first birthday should be celebrated with a big cake, that you get all to yourself, don’t you think? Happy first birthday, sweet Zara!
Brooklyn is such a lady – she made the most precious dent in her cake and was one of the neatest cake eaters I’ve ever had! Cake smashes are just the best way to capture that first birthday charm! All the world is a birthday cake, so take a piece! – George Harrison
