“…Let me share what I love about [Amanda’s] images because I truly feel that her images speak volumes to who she really is as a person. Amanda creates imagery that is real, uncut and unobtrusive. While sometimes her subjects are aware of the camera, more often than not, it seems as though it is still in such a raw form. Her ability to connect with her clients and capture moments that depict each mood or scenario she views from within her frame are the kinds of images that can tell a chapter from someone’s life from just that one shot. This is the beauty of Amanda herself. She is intentional in her relationships and undeniably authentic which marry’s perfectly with the message she conveys to her viewers. Not only does Amanda document the majestic moments in her clients lives, but … I think what inspires me the most about her, is her ability to be so intentional in her life and businesses that it allows her passion to truly shine through all of the things she does”. – Marie Holmes, Photographer
Time flies, doesn’t it?
Let’s talk about you. And me.
You: Have a million balls in the air – between getting to your morning meeting on time, researching new ways to get your son to eat leafy green vegetables and finding time to make it to yoga, the busy-ness of being mom is a lot to manage.
You look at your little ones and you want to stop time – capture it in a jar like a firefly and examine it. Every day, you wish you could take the time to breathe, smell their fine, freshly washed hair, spend an extra ten minutes in bed engaged in a cuddle or just have a morning where you’re NOT rushing. If only you could pause for a bit and wonder at the marvelousness of a teeny tiny toenail or the miracle of every time a preschooler’s name is written in uneven crayoned letters. To notice your pre-teen smile that exact way he did as a toddler when he masters something new or the way your daughter eats her waffles with a dainty, upturned pinkie – just so and how your spouse totally encourages it.
But life goes on.
Busy-ness envelopes a day, a week, a year. Gummy grins turn into smiles full of teeth, which then turn into the giggles of a bigger kid with a jack-o-lantern set of big and little person teeth. Sometimes, when you think about this, it takes your breath away just a bit. Or it makes your heart catch for a split second – you feel the squeeze in your chest SO tight and you just want to wrap your arms around your family and keep this perfect moment for.ev.er.
You can’t stop time. But I can.
I can give you those moments so you can savor and cherish them – I can give them to you to keep forever.
I can turn a surly toddler into a giggle monster and freeze that great big belly laugh at just the peak moment. I can catch the way your husband steals glances at you when you’re not looking and show you just how much he loves and admires you just the way you are. I can even record the small details that slip away so fast you’re not even aware they’re gone until it’s too late – like your daughter’s outie belly button or the slight freckles your son has from a summer well-spent in play.
I’m passionate about capturing memories and moments. I adore with creating custom, one of a kind art for you and your family that is a reflection of who you are now – of where you are now. The soft swell of an expectant belly, the precious details of your newborn that are all but gone in a month, those first few teeth and wobbly steps, the joy and exuberance that only a tutu or cape and rain boots brings, your son who just got taller than you – milestones – big and small.
A moment frozen in beautiful images that will be cherished for years and years to come.
Let me give you time.
I’ve been captivated with photography since childhood – not only for the artistic value but also, and more importantly, for it’s ability to stop time and preserve memories. My camera gives me the power to freeze a moment. My journey through motherhood has only reinforced my absolute love of capturing those moments to create heirloom imagery for you and your family to cherish for generations. I can’t wait to capture your story, to freeze your moments and to show you your masterpieces through my lens.
Some other random stuff: I love confetti, entertaining, monograms, college football, chocolate chip cookies, crafting, DIYing, and generally making messes; sharing good stuff, teaching others to take amazing pictures of their families and documenting my own amazingly full life with Francois and Vivi – my two most favorite people ever. When I’m not in “studio mode” you can find me over at Alamo City Moms Blog or Handmade Mood – my other two passions!
I’m a former elementary school teacher with a Masters (currently collecting dust!), a professional photographer, a blogger and about to be your new friend – and I think I’m really funny (I’m assured that sometimes I actually am…).
